Spicy Innovations Services is in the process of acquiring City and Guilds Accreditation.
Our Accreditation enables us to offer National Qualifications Framework programmes from level 1 to Level 4. We specialise in Hospitality Training and Development.

Food Preparation

Course Introduction

This qualification is designed for individuals who are currently working in a commercial restaurant or in the kitchen of a hotel or similar establishment and would like to earn a qualification or advance their education. Learners have to be employed in the food production area of any food service establishment.

Entry into this qualification requires the learner to have a Grade 10 or higher.

Course Outline

  • Fundamental principles of cooking and food preparation techniques.
  • Understanding of hotel and tourism sectors.
  • Management of areas of work.
  • Fundamental stock take principles.
  • Planning and preparation related to work areas and sections.
  • Understanding HACCP procedures in the workplace.

 Drink Services

Course Introduction

This qualification is designed for individuals who are currently working in the Beverage department at a restaurant or accommodation establishment and would like to earn a qualification or advance their education. Learners have to be employed in the Food and Beverage division of a hotel or similar establishment or restaurant.

Entry into this qualification requires the learner to have a Grade 10 or higher.

Course Outline

  • Fundamental food and beverage sectors and lay outs.
  • Understanding of hotel and tourism sectors
  • Management of areas of work including restaurant and bar areas.
  • Fundamental stock take principles.
  • Fundamental table and drink service.
  • Resource management.
